Coast Guard rescues 13 from flooded ship off New Mangalore Port

Indian Coast Guard (ICG) saved 13 ship crew members from a lifeboat after they left their vessel in the wee hours of Monday after serious on-board flooding off New Mangalore Port.

The crew of’ Tridevi Prem,’ a hopper dredger, was saved at anchorage off New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) by ICG vessel’ Amartya’ at sea at approximately 2.30 am.

NMPT tug Ocean Esteem undertook a search and rescue operation for another seven staff, who were on board the hopper dredger for repair job.
