EXPAIN INDUCTION MOTOR?

Induction motor is an asynchronous AC motor in which supply is given to the stator and the rotor gets
induced emf.

Principle:

When multi-phase supply is fed on the stator, it creates a rotating magnetic field. This induces an emf in the rotor and since the rotor is closed, a current passes through the rotor winding which creates a magnetic
field.
The rotor magnetic field will act in such a manner so as to oppose the main magnetic field and hence the rotor will try to catch upon follow the rotating stator magnetic field. Finally the rotor will obtain a constant speed.
